Pittsburgh area distribution company is in need of an experienced Bookkeeping/Accounting Specialist.

Duties  to include:

  • Manage recording expenses to QuickBooks, process invoices, and record entries. Timely processing of payments to vendors.
  • Handle billing, post customer payments to QuickBooks, and enter deposits to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Produce various financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, WIP, and Cash Statements, providing crucial insights for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with a 3rd party vendor for efficient payroll processing. Assist with QuickBooks entries, employee benefits, and records.
  • Manage healthcare and retirement plans.
  • Identify financial risks that may impact the organization and work towards mitigation strategies.
  • Handle insurance and licensing matters related to company vehicles and equipment.
  • Oversee and manage booking staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements. Liaise with the accounting firm for corporate tax return preparation.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and office supplies to contribute to the smooth functioning of the office.
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and employees on various accounting and operational matters.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in bookkeeping and accounting roles.
  • QuickBooks software proficiency
  • Degree in accounting or business or 5 yrs. equivalent experience.
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and achieve goals with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
