Downtown Pittsburgh litigation firm is seeking a Billing Specialist.  The Billing Specialist will assist with processing billing for clients, legal data entry, inputting invoices, and analyzing billing discrepancies.


–          Generate monthly invoices to begin review process.

–          Generate and proof invoices for accuracy.

–          Review invoices to ensure time is being billed to the correct client/matter.

–          Ability to handle a high volume of bills per month.

–          Mail, email or electronically submit invoices to clients.

–          Update client and matter information.

–          Edit time and cost entries as instructed.

–          Entering vendor invoices.

–          Prepare and validate backup for vendor invoices per client.

–          Create final invoice supporting documentation per client’s request.

–          Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, paralegals and secretaries.

–          Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required.

–          Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.

–          Provide management with daily status of completed functions.


–          1-2 years of work experience, preferably in a law firm setting.

–          Proficient in Microsoft applications:  Word, Excel and Outlook.

–          Experience w/ Prolaw, Bottom Line, LegalX, TyMetrix 360, Serengeti, Colloborati or LSS is preferred.

–          Proven aptitude for working with numbers.

–          Strong written and verbal communication skills.

–          Ability to work productively and effectively in a team setting.

–          Ability to maintain confidentiality of all firm and client related information.

–          Ability to multi-task, work independently, work under pressure, and handle interruptions while maintaining flexibility in work assignments.

–          High attention to detail and conscientious approach to delivering high quality results.

–          Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

–          Client service focus and ability to employ a flexible, positive attitude.
