Downtown Pittsburgh law firm is in need of an Accounting/Billing Clerk.  The selected candidate will provide ongoing support to the Accounting Department.  

Duties to include:

·         Processes associated with creating and submitting a bill for services and related costs to clients/insurance carriers/customers. Includes producing transmittal letters and related reports and adherence to established guidelines.  Also includes the transmission of billing information in various forms (paper, electronic, etc.).

·         Provides backup support for conflict checking.  Enters information from the Client/Matter Intake Form into database to determine if a potential conflict of interest exists.  Ensure all necessary steps are followed in the conflict checking process.

·         Processing of expense reimbursements, vendor payments, etc.

·         Processes associated with tracking and collecting funds owed for services.

·         Processes associated with communication in various forms used to inform or gather general information.

Requirements:

·         Possess a minimum of three to five years of hand-on clerical experience in a law firm accounting environment preferred, but not necessary.

·         Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel and the ability to prepare ad hoc reports and requests as needed.

·         The ability to gather relevant information, interpret and evaluate the data, and make informed decisions.  

·         Communicate clearly and coherently, interpreting information and adapting communicate to suit situations and needs.

·         Develop and maintain relationships with others and to work with others toward a common goal by working cooperatively, developing positive relationships and providing information and assistance willingly.

·         Develop and apply comprehensive planning and organizing strategies to ensure projects are appropriately prioritized and resources are used effectively and efficiently.

·         Able to change directions quickly as workflow needs change, and to respond with flexibility to a changing work environment.
