Engineer (V&V) $45.00-50.00 per hour

Pittsburgh area engineering firm is in need of an experienced System Engineer.

Responsibilities to include:

·         Analysis of System and Subsystem Hardware and Software Requirements to define appropriate validation methods

·         Verification of appropriate validation methods used to satisfy System and Subsystem level requirements

·         Develop test procedures to satisfy system and subsystem hardware and software requirements

·         Develop documentation showing compliance to applicable standards and requirements specifications

·         Develop software system and subsystem level test procedures

·         Perform software testing of requirements in a lab environment on target hardware and test environments

·         Issue the tests reports and report on non compliances

·         Ensure that designed software and hardware meet applicable requirements

Requirements:

·         Knowledge of testing tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and function generators

·         Ability to perform testing independently

·         Good verbal and written communication skills

·         Familiarity in development of test procedures and execution of testing in accordance with applicable standards (i.e., EN 50128, IEEE 1558, EN 50121-3-2, EN 50155, etc.)

·         Competent in Microsoft Office products

·         Experience in V&V activities within the railway or other regulated field

·         Experience with ATC, PTC, CBTC systems.

·         Effective time management

·         Strong organizational skills

·         Able to work independently

·         Good recordkeeping                                           

Preferred experience:

·         Knowledge of the testing and reporting processes to implement process improvement methods or tools

·         PYTHON coding experience

·         VectorCAST, C++, Labview

·         Knowledge international and national standards

·         Product V&V testing background
