Downtown Pittsburgh law firm is in need of an experienced paralegal for their real estate practice.  The selected candidate will work closely with attorneys and other staff with an emphasis on real estate closing activity. 

Duties will include:

  • Prepare new file creations, buyer introduction letters and other correspondence
  • Order title search or title insurance, as applicable
  • Collect tax certifications
  • Contact townships to gather lien/no-lien information
  • Prepare deeds and Exhibit A descriptions
  • Prepare documents for closings
  • Communicate with loan officers, closing companies, and other attorneys
  • Serve as client point of contact
  • Gather pre-bill information for upcoming closings
  • Record deeds and mortgages at the courthouse
  • Various other administrative and recordkeeping activities

Requirements:

  • Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years’ experience
  • Experience with e-Closing software
  • Experience with title searches, tax certifications, recording deeds and document preparation for closings
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and meet established deadlines  
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong PC skills to include  MSWord and Excel, working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Real estate closing/settlement documents and experience with Estate Administration and preparing Inheritance tax returns and final accounts preferred
